Summerland House

1999 Private Residence, Santa Barbara, California - Architect: Don Nulty

A 17th Century Spanish monastery was the inspiration for this design for a private residence of 8,000 square feet in the hills above the Pacific Ocean. Adobe, concrete and plaster were the main building materials. We had to research and employ historical methods and tools to hand-craft the doors, beams, ceilings and brick dental work of this time period. The home was built to showcase the owner’s superb collection of 17th Century artifacts.
